TERMS AND CONDITIONS



OPERATIONS

1. Abersoch Childcare is a childcare introduction service that allows parents to book the services of babysitters and nannies who are registered with the company. Babysitters and nannies work on a self-employed basis where parents pay them directly for their services and are therefore their employers.

2. We carry out interviews, DBS checks and references to ensure proposed babysitters and nannies meet our standards. We will then send details of available babysitters and nannies to parents to decide whether to employ them. It is then parent’s responsibility to ensure they comply with legal obligations.

3. As a childcare introduction service only, we do not employ the babysitters and they are therefore not covered under our insurance. Babysitters and nannies introduced to parents by Abersoch Childcare are responsible for their own public liability insurance and tax affairs.

BOOKINGS

4. By requesting a booking, you are giving Abersoch Childcare permission to retain your information as required.

5. Bookings will not be accepted from families staying in tents.

6. Bookings will not be accepted from families staying in caravans where the child/children do not have a separate sleeping area from the main living area.

7. For evening bookings children must be awake, so that the babysitter can meet the child before the parents go out.

8. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that they have suitable insurance. In the unlikely event that anything happens to your children or property while in care, the parent will be expected to claim on their own insurance. The parent relieves Abersoch Childcare of any liability for any accident, loss or damage to persons or property arising from the temporary engagement of the babysitter by the parent. Abersoch Childcare takes no responsibility and will not be liable to pay any damages or costs.

9. The parent agrees to provide the babysitter or nanny and the agency with details of any health and safety or other risks known to the parent, whether in relation to the residing property or the child/children.

10. We will endeavour to provide the same babysitter or nanny for the entire booking, if you have booked multiple dates. However, in some cases e.g. illness, it may be necessary for a last-minute replacement nanny to be provided or to complete the booking (even if the original babysitter or nanny has already started). This will not be accepted as a reason to cancel the booking and no money will be refunded in this case.

PAYMENT

11. Once a booking is agreed, a Reservation Fee (Abersoch Childcare’s fee) of the total hours booked will be taken via BACS transfer invoice by email to confirm the booking. This Reservation Fee is non-refundable once paid and the agency fee. The booking is not confirmed until the reservation fee is paid, last minute bookings must make this a priority to ensure the babysitter or nanny is secured.

12. Babysitters and nannies must be paid for the contracted hours booked by the parent (employer). Additional hours on the day are to be agreed by the babysitter or nanny and the parent.

13. If you return early, the babysitter or nanny still needs to be paid for the full hours agreed.

14. If you arrive home late, you must the nanny of babysitter for the additional time, hourly fees are rounded up to the nearest half hour.

15. Future bookings must be made via Abersoch Childcare, you are not to engage the services of the babysitter or nanny directly.

16. Cancellations by us: The reservation fee pays for the agencies work in finding/organising/background checking the babysitters and nannies. Any reservation fee paid is non-refundable except in the unlikely event of Abersoch Childcare being unable to provide a sitter for any agreed/confirmed booking. In this case Abersoch Childcare’s liability will be limited to the return of any deposit already paid.

17. Cancellations by you: Due to commitments already made to the babysitters, for bookings cancelled within 7 days of the babysitter's start date, 50% of the babysitter or nannies wage will still be charged. For bookings cancelled within 24 hours of the start time, 100% the babysitter or nannies wage will be payable. If your child is sick and you cancel you will still need to pay for the booked allocated time.

18. All reservation fee payments will be made to Abersoch Childcare via BACS transfer as detailed on the email invoice.

19. Abersoch Childcare does not handle babysitters or nannies pay. Payments for babysitters and nannies should be made directly to them. Tips are allowed to be given directly to babysitters and nannies at the client’s discretion.

ADDITIONAL

20. Calls to/from Abersoch Childcare will not be recorded.

21. Abersoch Childcare cannot be held responsible for any losses due to adverse weather conditions, public transport or sickness of babysitters or nannies. We will endeavour to support the parent and babysitters and nannies throughout the booking but unfortunately no compensation will be claimable from Abersoch Childcare for any financial loss incurred due to the above.

22. Babysitters and nannies cannot take children in their cars, transport is via foot, if your child needs a pram it is expected that you provide one.

23. By paying the deposit and confirming your booking through Abersoch Childcare you are deemed to have agreed and accepted all of the above terms and conditions.
